Impact Soundworks Releases Sitar Nation

I’m proud to announce that the sampling project I have been working on with my good friend & business partner Will Roget, II is finally complete! Entitled Sitar Nation: Classical Instruments of India, this Kontakt-format sample collection contains over 2.7gb of the most detailed sitar, tampura, tabla and baya samples ever released. Our goal was to really focus on extensively sampling a select number of instruments, doing lots of articulations, velocities, round robins, multiple mic positions - the type of depth you would normally expect from a piano or violin library.

Sitar Nation was released through our company, Impact Soundworks, and it is now available for download at a price of $119. You can listen to demos at the product page as well as read much more about the samples and what was recorded. I’m very happy to have been part of this project and since its release a little over a week ago, it has been doing very well. Whether you’re a professional composer, producer, or hobbyist, I think you’ll really enjoy these sounds, which not only include traditional timbres, but highly processed and scripted patches as well.

    Hi Andrew,

I just came by to say thanks for your great “Sitar Nation” Library.
When I started to play with Sitar and tabla sounds I was amzed how realistic the samples sound. It’s obvious that you payed an enormous attention to all the tiny details of those delicate instruments.

Using your library I had the impression to play real tablas and sitar via my keyboard. I never had this feeling with other libraries or software instruments before.

There was a nice coincidence. On the same day that your library arrived I also came accross a remix contest of a famous Youssou N’Dour song over at Indabamusic.
The sounds of you library were so inspiring that I decided to write a remix based on sounds from your library.
You’ll find my remix here: http://www.indabamusic.com/submissions/show/7331
