If you’re in the eastern Pennsylvania area, there’s a good chance you’ve already heard of Blake Dannen - or more precisely, you’ve probably heard his voice. A radio personality in the Lehigh Valley area for over a decade, Blake currently resides on 99.9FM “The Hawk”, a classic hits station (check out his host page here) at 2-7PM, as well as 93.3FM (WMMR) in Philadelphia.

I first met Blake (online, that is) via MySpace, where I saw he was a fan of BT and The Crystal Method, two of my own favorite artists, as well as a myriad of other bands from Led Zeppelin to The Clash. On his MySpace page, he has a blog with a monthly feature called “Music of the Month” where he features and interviews musicians from a wide range of genres. I was honored to hear that he wanted to have me as the featured artist for March!

If you’ve visited the zircon MySpace within the last few days, you’ve probably noticed that the blog there is now home to an electronic music review column I’ve just started writing. I’ll be updating it on a regular basis - anywhere from daily to weekly - covering artists, songs, albums, DJ mixes, remixes, and anything else that comes my way. I’ve started with a review of a free album by an unsigned indie artist named Beatdrop, but you can expect reviews of all kinds of artists in the blog, including major label acts.

In other news, Antigravity tracks have been cleaning up on Garageband, with “Mindbender” earning both Track of the Day AND Track of the Week (Techno category) and a perfect 5/5 reviewer rating. “Breathing You In” topped the active Trance charts just a few days ago, hitting #1 and entering the top 40 of all time in the Trance category. Even if you’re not a musician, you can show your support by creating an account there and adding yourself as a fan of mine.

My most-excellent artist & website designer Chad Behnke just upgraded the zircon MySpace. No longer a default… finally! I’ll be putting up some exclusive stuff there every so often, so be sure to friend me and check in every so often.
