zirconMusic is now live

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

My new artist website, www.zirconmusic.com, is now live! Over the next few weeks you’ll probably see various aesthetic and color changes to this template, but the content and general layout will remain the same. You’ll notice a whole lot of new content, such as the Discography page which contains a list of all eight of my album releases, complete with multiple purchase links and descriptions.

Other additions include six new songs available at the Music page, which is now much more streamlined, plus a completely revamped Store with new items, deals, and a better design. The whole site should be easier on the eyes and more interactive, with the ability to leave comments on any page.

As for THIS site, it isn’t defunct; it’s now next on the redesign list. Zircon Studios will become my “composer” site, featuring music I’ve written for games, TV, film, etc. You’ll be able to read about my services in detail, read testimonials, view credits, and even license music directly from a catalog of available tracks.

Long story short: visit zirconMusic from now on for my latest remixes, albums, tutorials and other ‘artist’ stuff - and stick around here if you’re interesting in my composition services / media portfolio.

Temporary downtime + Newground hits

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Sorry for the temporary downtime over the last 24 hours or so. Should all be cleared up now.

In other news, my latest album, Mass Media Constant, is now available on iTunes! It has been getting some serious attention over at the Audio Portal on Newgrounds.com, with “Necromancy” topping the all-time music charts and receiving over 1,500 reviews and 22,000 streams. “Bushido Blade” is quickly rising the ranks as well, being rated “Best of the Week” and topping the drum and bass charts.

Remember, you can grab two tracks for free at Protagonist Records, the label releasing the album. There’s plenty more great music from other artists there too!

Website Update pt 1

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

This will be the first of at least two significant updates to this website, the second of which is coming in the next month or two. If you browse the different sections you’ll notice much of the text has been rewritten in a different, more unique style, and the Services page has been significantly expanded. Video tutorials were added to the Tutorials section as well, and my bio/gear list have both gotten a much-needed update.

Keeping this brief since there’s lots more work that needs to be done… stay tuned, and don’t forget to pick up Super Street Fighter II Turbo: HD Remix, featuring my remix Flying Heaven!

No more Flash site - redesign coming soon

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

You may have noticed that the index page of Zircon Studios now defaults to the HTML version of the site. This isn’t a mistake - over the next month or so the site is going to be getting a revamp. The “music services” section in particular is going to be vastly improved, and the whole thing will be running on a smoother, more customized backend. I’ll be sticking to HTML rather than Flash for a number of reasons, such as search engine optimization and better loading times, but if you were digging the old layout don’t worry… I have it saved, so it may come back in upgraded form at some point!

New album, new remix, new website!

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

ANTIGRAVITY, my third original album, has officially started shipping today worldwide! It’s the biggest zircon release yet, featuring no less than four other artists and nearly outselling Impulse Prime in preorders alone. Pick up your copy at CD Baby for $14.99 or head to the Zircon Studios shop for the digital version. It’s also available on iTunes!

If you head to the video game remixes section you’ll also see a new remix, “Above Reason” from the game Streets of Rage 2. This is an old-school collab between myself and tefnek with some help from Rellik. It’s a big beat, butt-kickin’ romp through the stage 4 music, “Under Logic”. As always, check out OverClocked ReMix for more great FREE arrangements of both classic and modern video game tunes.

You may have also noticed that I have a new website! Having been in the works for nearly a year, my good friend & colleague from the days of VGDJ, Chad Behnke (aka Cyan_Ide) has finished the site you see before you - available in both Flash AND HTML. He was also the art designer for Antigravity’s packaging and insert. Give the man a round of applause! (But don’t forget to shoot him an email if you are encountering technical difficulties - he’s the new webmaster!)
